These are the planes and axis through which the body can move in. For example, flexion of the glenohumeral joint occurs in the sagittal plane, around the frontal axis. Abduction of the glenohumeral joint occurs in the Frontal plane, around the sagittal axis. Lastly, pronation of the radioulnar joint occurs in the transverse plane, around the vertical axis.
Something to note, planes and axis can never be mixed and matched. In other words, movements in the sagittal plane will always be paired with the frontal axis, movements in the frontal plane will always be paired with the sagittal axis, and movements in the transverse plane will always be paired with the vertical axis.
